Building permits rose from 926k in August to 974k in September and then up to 1.034M in October.  The recent jump in October brought building permits to their highest level since June 2008.  Consumer confidence in October dropped to 70.4 (72.4 Expected) in November from an upwardly revised 72.4 (from 71.2) in October.

 

Currently the 10YR Treasury is at 2.711 and FNMA 4.0’s are + 2/32.

 

Home Prices in 20 U.S. Cities Rise Most Since February 2006 - Home prices in 20 U.S. cities rose by the most since February 2006 in the 12 months through September, showing the housing market sustained progress even as borrowing costs climbed.

 

US building permits surge in October to highest since 2008 - Permits for future U.S. home construction rose to their highest level in nearly 5-1/2 years in October, suggesting the housing market recovery remained intact despite recent signs of slowing down.

 

Consumer confidence falls in November - U.S. consumer confidence fell in November as Americans worried about their future jobs and earnings prospects, according to a private sector report released on Tuesday.
